Boneographies begin with your bones.
Your X-rays, MRIs, or CT scans become the starting point for an artwork shaped by the structure and history of your body. Through digital and physical processes, medical images are removed from their clinical context and transformed into intimate records of a life held within the body.
Boneographies is a project by sculptor Lilia Ziamou. Her artistic practice begins with bone, the body’s most enduring form. At a time when technology allows us to rebuild what biology once determined, her work considers the desire to remake the body through repair, redesign, and reinvention.
Boneographies extends this inquiry into a personal encounter between medical image, individual history, and artistic form.
Boneographies begin with a conversation.
